Day 22 Heading towards the Mountains and Santiago

We had a memorable dinner last night with a Frenchman-Michelle is a former member of the French Foreign Legion and now owns a security company in Spain. He had many stories to tell about his time in Africa and we discussed everything from business to politics! Every night is different, you never know who you will share dinner with but it has always been enjoyable.
The weather remains cold and as we head into the mountains tomorrow a bit of a concern- there is new snow that we can see in the mountains.Today it did not rain (yeah!) so at least we were dry. We are in the small village of Murias de Rechivalda- just past Astorga- not much here- not even peregrinos so we
are going out to look for some dinner.
Typical breakfast-the coffee is usually served in a glass
There are many stands of trees everywhere that are planted in straight lines-around villages, cities and in the country
More groves of trees always in perfect straight lines!
Wildflowers are growing- lavender, roses, daisies and many others in all colors
Many trails are covered with rocks- painful to tired feet- people pick there way down the smoothest routes

Puente de Orbigo- longest medieval bridge in Spain from 13th century in Hospital de Orbigo

  2. Here we are again, excited to view all the pictures you have so generously provide for us to view. Lynda and Brad our prayers are for your whole body's to get you both where you want to be safely. Our weather in Yakima has been very hot. We have to let the car run to keep it cool for Scruffy when we shop. Sunday Richelle is hosting and business party opportunity so we will take that in and get to see a lot of the family. Scruffy is still being view for lunch by a big coyote who just happens to be here almost everyday. Well, we will want to have some special time with you when you get back to America and talk about all your adventures. It believe it is a lifetime dream to take something like this on in ones life. You guy's amaze us - we know it isn't easy but what fun would that be...right! Love Mom & Dad
