Cinco de Mayo- day 5

The comraderie among the peregrinos (pilgrims) is just amazing! So many people from around the world- all basically walking in the same direction, for many varied reasons. It is now sunny and warm- we have moved into the Rioja region where the wonderful wine ( vino tinto) is made and the grapes are grown. The scenery is beautiful, many wild flowers, fields of grape vines, olive trees and grains etc. Everyone is tired and sore but having a great experience. We have lost a few to injury- one very bad leg fracture- but most travel forward without too much complaint. Off to the tapas bars and more vino tinto with new friends from Australia -
Happy Birthday Bob! Til maƱana, adios
Filling up the water bottle at the town fuente
Lots of rocky staircases
Map of the world done in plantings-huge!
Narrow cobbled streets in every village
