Tired feet and sore muscles

We loved Pamplona-warm sunshine and people- we sat and had cafe con leche and were serenaded with jazz and a beautiful ave Maria in the plaza. St Jean Pied de Port was fun- stayed in a building built in the 1500's- up early to hike 4000 feet into the Pyrenees- long hard day- rain, wind, cold and mud 8 inches deep- even snow on the ground! Today continued cold and rainy- the communal living/meals are fun- meeting people from all over the world-a couple of crazy guys from Brazil were so funny at dinner last night- last nights albergue  was over a thousand years old-tonight in Zubiri-looking for sunshine :)

  1. Was this after your first full day of hiking? Sounds pretty rugged. Be strong ... The sun will come out soon! Let me know if you get this post. Wishing you well.

  2. Mud 8 inches deep? 4000 feet elevation-wow! I'm sure sore muscles and tired feet aren't the whole story...but you're walking! We're sending the sun from here your way. The rain has literally just begun and it's back to cool and cloudy. Karl is working on his compost pile...sort of like your mud that's 8 inches deep! Hugs, K and K
